APPETIZERS

The La Playa menu starts with a variety of delicious appetizers including mouth-watering guacamole made tableside by your server. Every ingredient in every item on the La Playa menu is prepared fresh daily. La Playa is famous for ceviche; the traditional ceviche made with fresh white fish and shrimp, the ceviche Verde made with a spicy green sauce and the Campechana ceviche served in a spicy red sauce topped with crab meat and avocado. The appetizer menu also features parilla nachos made with beef or chicken fajitas served on crispy tortilla chips with refried beans and chile con queso garnished with sour cream, jalapenos and guacamole

ENTREES

For your main course La Playa offers a traditional Mexican food menu and also features house specialties created by the Villasana family. Some of the house specialties are enchiladas Marisco, spinach enchiladas and tacos pescado. Enchiladas Marisco are made from two flour tortillas stuffed with fresh shrimp and avocado, covered with a creamy roasted poblano sauce, a splash of ranchero, and topped with fresh sautéed lump crabmeat. The spinach enchiladas are made from two flour tortillas stuffed with fresh spinach sautéed with garlic and roasted almonds. The spinach enchiladas are topped with the creamy roasted poblano sauce and a beautiful slice of fresh broiled tomato. The tacos pescado are made with fresh grilled white fish or shrimp, purple cabbage, pico de gallo and creamy cilantro ranch dressing. The presentation is a work of art and the food is delicious.

LA PLAYA SAUCE CREATIONS

Chile con Queso: blended white cheeses, green bell peppers, white onions and whole milk
Creamy Roasted Poblano Sauce: Roasted Poblano Peppers, Heavy Cream, slight smoky flavor with a hint of heat.
Island sauce: Chunky tomato base with onions, serranos, garlic, finished with butter, spicy to mild.
Ranchero Sauce: Chunky tomato base with onions, serranos and garlic, spicy to mild.
Tex-Mex gravy: Traditional meat-based gravy with chili powder and a blend of other spices
VerdeTomatillo: Roasted green tomatoes, onions, garlic & spices, zesty and tangy start with a little heat to finish.

SPECIALTY SAUCES SERVED ON FRESH GRILLED FILETS OF GROUPER, REDFISH, TILAPIA, YELLOWFIN TUNA AND BLACK DRUM

Bayou Bay Sauce: Crawfish tails, cocktail shrimp, red and green bell peppers sautéed in garlic butter with sautéed lump crabmeat.
Caliente Sauce: Onions, garlic, serranos and sliced tomatoes sautéed with butter
Chili Aioli: Mayonnaise based with tomatoes, onions, garlic, serranos and red wine vinegar
Crab Meat Topping: Sautéed lump crabmeat and slices of fresh avocado.
Vera Cruz Sauce: Chunky tomato base with onions, serranos, garlic, capers, pimentos, black and green olives (spicy to mild).

DINNER SPECIALS

Dinner specials are served with fiesta rice and grilled vegetables. The grilled vegetables are delicious slices of portabella mushrooms, summer squash and zucchini squash. Another La Playa special that is often featured as a dinner special is an eight-ounce rib eye grilled to order and topped with four grilled flying shrimp.
